I want to sell hand-made greeting cards. Clients would order each design singly or in multiples. I charge (now...before PayPal) $1.85 per card or $1.75 per card in multiples greater than 10. I don't see a way to code for this. If I charge $1.85 per card and offer "free shipping" on cards over $25, I lose $1.35 on each batch of 25 cards. How can I offer a discounted price on orders greater than 10 cards? Thanx

Unfortunately, there is not a simple solution for you.

I would suggest creating separate buttons for your price breaks, like this..

Single Orders
<add to cart> - $1.85 per Card

Bulk Orders
<add to cart> - $11.75 (10) per order
<add to cart> - $50.00 (50) per order

As for a break on shipping, you can set that in your Shipping Calculation in your account, or add transaction-based shipping variables in your button code.

There is a way...

Go to
'Sell' tab
'PayPal Solutions'
'PayPal Shopping Cart'
'Techniques'
'Modify Item Cost and Description on the Fly (dynamically)'
'Quantity discount example'

https://www.paypal.com/c...p/xcl/rec/sc-techniques

Hope that helps,
Tom

There is an EXTREMELY simple solution for this (if you will allow JavaScript into your site. "Quantity discounts" is one of the topics in my article...

Check it out, and you can build any sort of discount structure you want...

Also, shipping charges (as entered in PayPal options) may be overridden, if you select the right options within PayPal, and include the right variables in the PayPal add-cart code...
