Vat not being applied? Options

Hello, the problem is that our PayPal account VAT isn't being applied to a PayPal order.


Step by step what we did:

1. Setup VAT value for New York state in our PayPal business account (Profile -> VAT) (see image)

2. Call PayPal SetExpressCheckout Requst method for one of product from our site checkout page and redirect to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr

3. PayPal Login page appeared

4. After login to PayPal with one of our test client PayPal accounts we see “Preview your order Information” page (see image)

5. We can’t see additional “Tax” line with tax calculation added to our order on base our account VAT value.


We are using SOAP API, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello Alyssenko, I am having exactly the same problem that you are having, I am based in the UK, have changed the VAT rate to 20% but it does not appear on invoices and this is necessary as I am VAT registered. Can anyone at paypal help and get back to me as soon as possible please.

I also have this issue. Must be a bug. Come on Paypal sort it out
