Hello,

We are located in Ontario, Canada and have setup a simple shopping store through PayPal. All shipments in Canada get charged 5% GST. I have set this up. All shipments to Ontario get charged an additional 8% PST. I set this up as well for Ontario.

My question is: If a visitor purchases an item and ships to Ontario, will the PayPal final invoice show both the GST 5% charged and a separate line-item for the PST 8% charged? This is important as we need to report GST and PST amounts separately to the Canada Revenue Agency.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Have you found an answer for this question?

I'm having a similar issue with the GST/PST in BC for my email invoices where I want to show the taxes separately. So far I haven't been able to get an answer from the PayPal customer service department…

I don't think they will show up separately, you could set up your tax profile to charge 5% for each province except Ontario and then set up Ontario to charge 8%, but you would need to download your history to separate it out.
